Official By-Laws of The Lake Edenwold Association
ARTICLE 1: Name
The name of the association shall be THE LAKE EDENWOLD ASSOCIATION.
ARTICLE 2: Purpose
The purpose of the Association shall be to maintain, improve and protect the community, its property and the rights of its Members.
ARTICLE 3:
Section 1: Membership
A. Resident Property Owners and Lessees are eligible for Membership. There are two (2) types of membership with the total number homes not to exceed 125 homes. Of the 125 homes, a maximum of 20 can be Associate Members.
1. Resident members homes, as set by original boundary maps, shall enjoy all privileges and voting rights, privileges include full use of both lakes and recreational facilities.
2. Associate members are homes outside Lake boundaries; that shall have all lake and recreational facilities' privileges.
A. Associate members have to be voted in by the Executive Committee.
B. Associate membership is on a year-to-year basis.
C. After a probation period of one year, an Associate Member in good standing will earn voting rights the following year.
D. After three years an Associate Member, may run for office.
E. Any Associate member who abuses lake property rules and regulations, may have their membership terminated by the Executive Committee.
F. Associate members may not list their property as belonging to Lake Edenwold or advise potential buyers of said property that they have any inherent rights to membership in Lake Edenwold. If an Associate Member sells their property, the Lake Association may offer Associate Membership to the
new owner.
B. No resident who is eligible for his/her own Membership in the Association may at any time be a Guest.
C. All Members in good standing will be furnished with Membership badges which will entitle them to use the facilities of the Association. Badges must be worn at all times when on Lake property.
Section 2: Privileges
A. Swimming in the Upper Lake
B. Fishing on the Lower Lake
C. Boating on the Lower Lake (No gas powered boats allowed)
D. Walking and Hiking on all trails and all Lake properties
E. Any social activities on Lake Property
Section 3: Annual Fees
A. Annual fees shall be an amount decided yearly by the Executive Committee of the Association, and approved by the General Membership.
B. The Edenwold Association must maintain a full Membership roster for the purpose of paying property taxes, liability insurance and general maintenance of its properties comprised of the upper and lower lakes.
C. In the case of the Lessees, fees may be paid by either the Lessee or the Property Owner.
D. Annual fees are payable before April 1st of each year.
E. Any Member who fails to pay the annual fees on or before April 1st of each year shall be considered delinquent. All privileges of membership shall be suspended for the period of delinquency, until current and all past annual fees are paid in full.
F. Any property owner who is selling a home and is delinquent in current and back fees will be responsible to pay back all outstanding fees.
1. When outstanding fees are not paid, the homeowner's property cannot be sold as lake Property and new homeowners are not eligible for Lake membership until all back fees are paid in full.
ARTICLE 4: Votes
Each Membership household in good standing shall be entitled to two votes. Votes shall be cast by a person not under twenty-one years of age, who shall be present at the meeting.
ARTICLE 5
Section 1: Meetings
There shall be a minimum of two General Membership meetings per year.
Section 2: Order of Business
At such General Membership meetings the order of business shall be:
A. Reading of the minutes of the previous General Meeting.
B. Treasurer's report
C. Committee reports
D. Old business
E. New business
F. Election of Officers (at the final meeting of the year).
Section 3: Quorum
A quorum at a General Meeting shall consist of ten dues-paying Members in order that business may be carried on. Five of these must be Members of the Executive Committee
Section 4: Conducting of the Meeting
The President shall conduct at the meetings. In his/her absence this shall be the duty of the Vice-President. In the absence of both, the meeting shall be conducted by the Treasurer.
ARTICLE 6
Section 1: Officers
Officers of the Association shall include a President, a Vice-President, a Secretary and a Treasurer. At least two of the elected officers must be elected from the Resident Membership.
Section 2: Executive Committee
There shall exist an Executive Committee composed of fourteen Members; the four present Officers, the preceding Officers, and the remainder dues-paying Members who shall be elected by a majority of those present at the final meeting of the General Membership.
Section 3: Powers of the Executive Committee
The Executive Committee shall have the power to manage all the affairs of the Association and shall have absolute jurisdiction in all matters dealing with the Association All matters having to do with the policy may be submitted to the General Membership during the General Membership Meetings.
Section 4: Quorum of the Executive Committee
In order for an Executive Committee to be conducted, there must be six regular Members of this committee present.
Section 5: Election of Officers
The Officers shall be nominated and elected by separate ballot by a majority of those present at the final General Meeting of the year. Their term of office shall be one year, or until their successors have been duly elected.
Section 6: Duties of the President
It be the duty of the President to conduct all General and Executive Meetings. He/She shall appoint the necessary standing and special committees. He/She shall perform any and all other such duties as shall be imposed upon him/her by the Executive Committee.
Section 7: Duties of the Vice-President
It shall be the duty of the Vice-President to perform all the duties and functions of the President in the latter's absence.
Section 8: Duties of the Secretary
The Secretary shall keep all minutes and records of the Association and handle all necessary correspondence.
Section 9: Duties of the Treasurer
The Treasurer shall keep account of all the sums deposited with him/her in the name of the Association, and of all sums expended by him/her in the name of the Association, and deposit all monies collected by him/her for the Association accounts within seven days. He/She shall open and/or maintain a bank account at a bank to be decided by the Executive Committee.
Section 10: Other Duties of the Officers
The Officers will perform such other duties as may be assigned to them by the direction of the Executive Committee.
ARTICLE 7
Section 1: Amendments
A. By the Executive Committee
The Executive Committee may originate a proposed amendment. After being publicized to all Members in good standing, the proposed amendment shall then be brought before the next General Membership Meeting for final approval and must be passed by two-thirds of those present.
B. By General Membership
Amendments to the By-Laws may be proposed at any General Meeting. Consideration of proposed amendments should be voted upon by the Membership. If such consideration is approved by two-thirds of those present, the proposed amendment is submitted to the Executive Committee for their study. If the proposed amendment receives approval of the Executive Committee, it should be publicized to all Members in good standing.
Section 2: When By-Laws Shall Be Effective
These By-Laws will take effect when a majority of those present at a General Meeting shall approve them.
WINTER:
No ice skating on lake.
No ice hockey.
No ice fishing.
Do not walk on the ice as it may be dangerous.
No one should be on the frozen lake at any time for any reason.

Lake Edenwold, established in 1926, is not responsible for any loss or injuries while you are on Lake property.
Always be safe and carry a cell phone with you while on Lake property.
SUMMER:
Swimming Season is June 15 - September 15. These are also the dates in which the port-o-john is available.
Only the current year paid members are allowed on Lake property.
Badges must be worn while on lake property.
You may bring a guest onto lake property as long as you are wearing a current year's paid membership badge. A guest should not be on the beach without a badge or without a member present.
Bring a cell phone with you while on the upper lake beach in case of an emergency since there are no phones on the property.
No life guard is on duty, so parents are responsible for watching their children.
No one should go swimming without a swimming buddy.
You may request a date for you to have the lake for your private party. All members may use the lake; and use the BBQ and the tables and chairs. This is included in your membership fee, so it is free.

The Clubhouse is usually locked unless used for our Tiki Nights, Annual Picnic and Flea Market.
You may take out the paddle boat or use whatever toys that are available at the clubhouse, but they must be returned at the end of your visit to the beach.
Bring your garbage with you after you have been on the beach. We do not keep garbage cans on the beach since in the past they have attracted bears.
If you have a small boat, you must request a boat permit when applying for or paying your dues.
You are responsible for your boat at all times. Be sure it is in good repair and take it out of the water at the end of the season.
Fishing is allowed on the lower lake; however, we have a policy of catch and release.
The Lake closes at 7:30 PM each day.
Dues are $150 due on the first of April of each year.
